A week across Europe’s largest mountain plateau
This is a true wilderness expedition — no marked snowmobile trails and no cabin comforts. Each day we travel 10–15 km on skis, pulling sleds with our gear, and set camp in tents out on the plateau.
The trip is rated moderate to advanced. Conditions can be challenging, but the reward is complete immersion in nature: vast silence, reindeer tracks, and nights under the stars.
Evenings are spent preparing meals together and sharing stories by the light of the stove. It’s a demanding but unforgettable experience of Norway’s high mountain wilderness.
Prerequisites
Participants should have some experience with cross-country skiing and outdoor camping, and feel comfortable spending several days outdoors in cold conditions. You don’t need to be an athlete — a reasonable level of fitness is enough to enjoy the trip, as you’ll be moving at a steady pace pulling a relatively light pulk. This adventure is ideal for those who enjoy being outdoors and want to build confidence and skills in a beautiful Arctic setting.
