Summer Trips

 

Kvenna River Expedition + Wilderness Paddle and Hike

  • Backpack (around 80L+) Can be rented
  • Sleeping pad (comfortable enough for 7 nights) - Can be rented
  • Sleeping bag (rated for mountain summer temperatures) - Can be rented
  • Dry bags or waterproof liners for packing. - Can be rented
  • High hiking boots (water-resistant)
  • Camp shoes or sandals
  • Wool hiking socks (several pairs)
  • Base layers (merino wool or synthetic, no cotton)
  • Mid-layer (fleece or light down/synthetic jacket)
  • Waterproof shell jacket and pants (wind/rain protection)
  • Hat, buff or neck gaiter, gloves (plus an extra pair)
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • Headlamp with spare batteries
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, biodegradable soap, small towel)
  • Water bottle or hydration system
  • Snacks and energy food for the trail/paddling
  • Camera or phone + power bank
  • Personal first aid kit (your own essentials like blister/sports tape, painkillers etc.) 
  • Passport/ID, health card, and any personal medications
  • Mosquito net and bug spray

 


 

Winter Trips


Base Equipment

  • Thermal base layers (top and bottom)
  • Mid-layer fleece or wool sweater
  • Insulated winter jacket (down or synthetic)
  • Waterproof and windproof outer shell (jacket and pants)
  • Warm winter trousers (insulated or lined)
  • Winter gloves or mittens (plus a spare pair)
  • Warm hat or beanie
  • Neck gaiter, scarf, or buff
  • Thick wool socks
  • High, sturdy winter boots with good grip
  • Thermal flask for hot drinks

 

Hardangervidda Winter Expedition

  • Lightweight camp shoes or insulated booties for use in camp
  • Large backpack (recommended 80 L or larger) - Can be rented
  • Sleeping bag rated for winter conditions (minimum –18°C) - Can be rented
  • Sleeping mat suitable for winter conditions - Can be rented
  • Extra thermal base layers
  • Extra wool socks (2–3 pairs)
  • Additional insulating layer (e.g. an extra down jacket)
  • Personal hygiene items for multi-day travel

 

Winter Wilderness Camp

  • Backpack (minimum 50 L) - Can be rented
  • Sleeping bag rated for winter conditions (minimum –18°C) - Can be rented
  • Sleeping mat (reindeer skins will be provided) - Can be rented
  • Lightweight camp shoes or warm socks for evenings at camp (optional)
  • Extra wool socks (2-3 pairs)

 

General ice climbing courses and guiding

  • 2+ pairs of lightweight gloves suitable for climbing (no mittens) 
  • Warm hat (fits under helmet)
  • Wool socks
  • Thermal base and mid layer (wool or synthetic)
  • Shell jacket and pants (Gore-Tex or similar)
  • Warm jacket (down or synthetic)
  • Small backpack (25–45 L)
  • Thermos with a hot drink
  • Lunch and snacks for the day

 

Rjukan Ice Masterclass

In addition to equipment mentioned for the "General ice climbing courses and guiding":

  • Harness

All rental gear must be pre-booked. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to rent equipment, either through our chat or at info@rjukanadventure.no.

  • Which items you would like to rent
  • Your shoe size (if renting boots)
