Five days of adventure and calm in Norway's largest mountain plateau
Paddle across crystal-clear mountain lakes, hike between valleys and ridges, and camp beneath vast skies — this 5-day wilderness expedition lets you experience Hardangervidda at its most authentic. Guided by local experts, you'll travel through a landscape shaped by glaciers, weather, and time itself.
Each day combines gentle paddling and rewarding hiking, covering roughly 10–20 km at a comfortable pace. Together, we navigate the route, set up camp in wild places, and enjoy evenings around the fire with warm meals and good company. Expect a mix of adventure and tranquility — moments of effort balanced with deep calm.
No previous paddling experience is required. A normal level of fitness and an enjoyment of life outdoors are enough. Your guide provides all instruction, ensuring everyone feels confident and part of the team. The route and pace are adjusted to suit the group and weather conditions.
Who it's for
This trip is ideal for active outdoor enthusiasts who are ready for a genuine wilderness experience. You should be prepared to carry a backpack weighing 20-25 kg and cover at least 10 km per day through a combination of hiking and paddling. Most of the hiking will be off-trail, navigating uneven terrain.
This is a real backcountry expedition that requires good physical fitness and mental readiness for remote wilderness conditions.
What's included & what to bring
All shared expedition gear is provided — packrafts or canoes, paddles, life jackets, tents, stoves, and cookware. You'll need to bring your backpack, sleeping bag, suitable clothing, and personal items.
