Kvenna River Expedition

Paddle 100 km through remote wilderness on one of Norway’s most beautiful river systems.

What to expect

A remote wilderness expedition across Hardangervidda

This is a 7-day wilderness expedition along the Kvenna River — one of the most remote and untouched river systems on the Hardangervidda plateau. It’s a true backcountry journey offering stunning scenery, solitude, and a deep connection to nature.

The trip starts near Røldal in the west and ends at Mogen in the east. Using packrafts — lightweight inflatable boats — we paddle downriver and hike through rugged terrain, carrying our gear across valleys and ridges.

Nights are spent in tents at remote riverside camps. The rhythm of active days and quiet evenings by the fire makes for an unforgettable experience far from civilization.

You’ll travel roughly 100 km over 7 days. While no previous packrafting experience is needed, participants should be in good physical shape and comfortable with hiking and carrying gear (approx. 22–26 kg packs).

The adventure ends at Mogen, where we take a boat across the lake to Varland — returning to civilization with new skills, memories, and stories to share.
